They Were Right

So many people told us that we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. They said we'd never experienced the sleep depravity or the monumental change in priorities that we would when the little one arrives. We politely thanked them.

Oh how right they were.

I thought I knew tiredness because of my hours, but at least before I was sleeping. It was impossible to comprehend before. The first week has been so exhausting. Just like a new star, this little person has become the center of our little family solar system. Now everything rotates around her. She whimpers and we respond. She holds her breath for a second and it seems like eternity for us.

We heard other couples say that all they do is sit and watch the little one. Right... sure. We figured we get stuff done while she was so little. Ha!

They were so right. Within a week she has already changed so much in our home and our hearts. Now we are trying to cherish every moment with her before she grows up.

Yes, everyone was right about that too.
